A placement with us will involve working one-to-one with Pre-teens (+10 yearsold) children and at times vulnerable adults, we will ask that you undertake a Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check before starting with us.
Though our therapists are trained in a number of counselling approaches, all therapists who join us should be trained, primarily, in one of the following schools of thought: integrative psychotherapy, person-centred counselling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy or couples counselling and/or psychosexual therapy. As much as we value other types of therapies, we restrict our counselling services to the types of therapy listed above.
Successful applicants will become part of a unique team of therapists, working with a diverse group of clients. We will engage via Zoom and so all volunteers/trainees are to be able to communicate via Zoom with clients and colleagues.
We provide compulsory in-house group supervision (when members have a client) and, through this, our therapists collaborate as part of a team. Therefore, it is important that therapists who join us are able to work both independently as well as part of an established, integrated, dynamic team.
Our supervision will be both group and one-to-one. This is available to all, but comes at an affordable rate for those who are working with us:
Group Supervision for AYCP Trainees and Volunteers: £15
Group Supervision for non-AYCP Trainees and Volunteers on a placement with
AYCP, but would like to take part: £20
One-to-One Supervision for AYCP Trainees and Volunteers: £30
One-to-One Supervision for non-AYCP Trainees and Volunteers on a placement
with AYCP, but would like to be supervised: £35
